This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.

Application refers to GooseCode, the software program provided by the Company.

Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to GOOSECLIP LIMITED, Unit B, Lostock Industrial Estate Lynstock Way, Lostack, Bolton, England, BL6 4SG.

For the purpose of the GDPR, the Company is the Data Controller.

Country refers to: United Kingdom

Data Controller, for the purposes of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), refers to the Company as the legal person which alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of Personal Data.

Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.

Do Not Track (DNT) is a concept that has been promoted by US regulatory authorities, in particular the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), for the Internet industry to develop and implement a mechanism for allowing internet users to control the tracking of their online activities across websites.

GDPR refers to EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Integrated Development Environment (IDE) refers to Microsoft VisualStudio Code and any JetBrains products for which We have developed a plugin.

Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.

For the purposes of GDPR, Personal Data means any information relating to You such as a name, an identification number, location data, online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.

Service refers to the Application.

Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used. For the purpose of the GDPR, Service Providers are considered Data Processors.

Third-party Social Media Service refers to any website or any social network website through which a User can log in or create an account to use the Service.

Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

Under GDPR, You can be referred to as the Data Subject or as the User as you are the individual using the Service.

Personal Data

In the process of providing our Service, we may require you to furnish us with specific personally identifiable information that can be employed to contact or identify you. We collect and process the following types of personal data:

  1. User IDs: A unique identifier, or User ID, is created for each user by Firebase Authentication during account creation. This User ID is used to associate data with individual users within our Service. User IDs are stored securely and are only used for the purposes outlined in this policy.

  2. Email address: We collect your email address when you authenticate using Firebase Authentication with Apple OAuth2 Login. This is the only personal data we collect during the authentication process.

  3. Device Information: During your use of our Service, we may collect certain information about the device you use to access our Service. This information could include, but is not limited to, the operating system version and build number, locale, device manufacturer and model, screen dimensions, connection status, and root status.

This device information may be associated with your User ID to help us improve our Service and provide a better user experience by tailoring our Service to the general characteristics of our users' devices.

We use third-party services which may also use this device information:

  • Sentry uses device information for diagnostic purposes, helping us identify and resolve technical issues and improve the stability of our Service.

  • RevenueCat uses device information to process payment transactions securely.

Please note that these third-party services have their own privacy policies governing their use of data, which we recommend you review.

  1. Diagnostic Data: Sentry is used for crash reporting, which includes device information, allowing us to troubleshoot issues and improve the stability of our Service. Any IP addresses in the diagnostic data are scrubbed to ensure your privacy. If you wish, you can opt out of this data collection via the app settings.

  2. Country Information: During a payment transaction, RevenueCat records your country, which is determined using your IP address. However, the IP address is not stored after this information has been obtained. This country information helps us understand our user demographic and is necessary for transaction and tax purposes.

  3. GitHub Data: In order to authenticate your user account and enhance the functionality of our Service, we may access and store information related to your GitHub account, if you opt to connect it. This data may include, but is not limited to, your GitHub username, associated repositories, files contained within those repositories, repository ownership details, and other associated data. Please note, we only collect and process this data with your explicit consent, and in compliance with GitHub's terms and conditions, as well as applicable privacy laws and regulations. If you have concerns about the scope of data access, you have the option to create a fine-grained access token within GitHub. This token allows you to specify and limit the data our Service can access, providing you with greater control over your data privacy.

  4. IDE Integration: Our Service offers an optional IDE Integration feature, which allows the Application to connect with your computer. Upon your explicit authorization, this feature will have access to files located within the IDE workspace. This access is necessary to provide certain functionalities of our Service, such as code reading and editing functionality, error checking, and others. The Application will not transmit these files to our servers or use them for any purpose other than providing the features of our Service. Encrypted caches of files used within the canvas, will be stored locally on your Device.

We are committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your personal data. We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service.

To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data You provide can give You access to different functionalities of the Service that are available to You as a registered user.

For the performance of a contract: the development, compliance and undertaking of the purchase contract for the products, items or services You have purchased or of any other contract with Us through the Service.

To contact You: To contact You by email, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as a mobile application's push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities, products or contracted services, including the security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.

For business transfers: We may use Your information to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Data held by Us about our Service users is among the assets transferred.

For other purposes: We may use Your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our Service, products, services, marketing and your experience.

Diagnostics

  • Sentry a service provided by Functional Software, Inc. Sentry collects various information to diagnose and fix issues with our Service. Please note that while we use Sentry for analytics purposes, we do not use it to track your location information. You can prevent Sentry from using your information for diagnostic purposes by opting out through settings available within our Service. Payments

We may provide paid products and/or services within the Service. In that case, we may use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors).

We will not store or collect Your payment card details. That information is provided directly to Our third-party payment processors whose use of Your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. "Do Not Track" Policy as Required by California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)

Our Service does not respond to Do Not Track signals.

However, some third party websites do keep track of Your browsing activities.
